How to Join
Timebanks of Puget Sound is primarily for those who live in the Puget Sound region. If you live outside this area, you are welcome to join, however the distance may limit your exchanges.
To join, first review the Member Policies.
Next, you will need to fill out an application form and attend an orientation. You can either fill out the application form on-line ahead of an orientation, or complete it at the orientation. To complete an application form ahead of time download the application form, below. If you use the Word Doc version of the application, fill it out electronically, save it, and print it out. If you use the PDF version, you can print out the PDF, fill it out by hand, and bring it to the orientation meeting.
See the Events Calendar on your neighborhood or community timebank to find upcoming orientation meetings. At the timebank orientation you will learn about our processes and database software. Please bring a photo ID to the orientation and personal reference contact information if you have not yet filled out an application.
Once you have completed the orientation and the application, all timebank applicants go through a basic level of screening, including a Washington State criminal background check through Washington State Patrol, and one personal reference is called.
Individuals with criminal records are generally excluded from the timebank, with potential exceptions for minor offenses. There is a Background Check Screening Committee established specifically to address questionable background information. This committee reports directly to the Board of Directors of TimeBanks of Puget Sound.
See the Screening Guidelines.
Upon successful completion of the screening, you will be notified by your timebank coordinator. You are then a member of the timebank, and your online account can be established and activated!
